Over 500 manufacturing professionals visited Yamazaki Mazak\u2019s November Open House, as the manufacturer recorded strong interest in its newest UK-made machine tools, smart automation solutions and digital service-driven technologies.<\/p>\n
The three-day event (18-20 November) held at Mazak\u2019s European Manufacturing Plant and Technology Centre in Worcester focussed on how the latest advanced machine technologies can help the UK manufacturing community streamline its production processes, boost productivity and future-proof operations.<\/p>\n
The event included over 19 live-cutting machine demonstrations, from multi-tasking, 5-axis, turning and vertical machining to the latest laser processing machines and automation systems. Attendees also explored how Mazak\u2019s integrated solutions can help manufacturers improve productivity, reduce cycle times and embrace digital connectivity through the latest in MAZATROL CNC technology.<\/p>\n
As the only machine tool company that fully designs and manufactures new products in the UK, visitors were particularly interested in the Mazak machines produced in Worcester. In addition to its highly popular QUICK TURN lathes and VCN and VTC vertical machining centres, visitors were drawn to two of Mazak\u2019s newest UK-made ranges: the INTEGREX j-200 NEO and the next generation of its highly popular CV5 series.<\/p>\n
With production of the INTEGREX j-200 NEO now underway, the new line \u2013 along with investments in automated laser cutting in the company\u2019s Sheet Metal Department \u2013 were a popular highlight of the factory tours, which were delivered by Mazak apprentices throughout the event.<\/p>\n
Visitors were invited to take part in dedicated \u2018Technology Tours\u2019 showcasing Mazak\u2019s latest innovations at the European Technology Centre. Key highlights included automated gear manufacturing, entry-level 5-axis machining and multi-tasking solutions, as well as advancements in connectivity through Mazak iCONNECT and the new MAZATROL DX platform.<\/p>\n
Other activities included networking with leading suppliers of complementary technologies that enhance machining efficiency.<\/p>\n
For a small charitable donation, attendees also had the chance to test their driving skills on multiple F1 racing simulators. The fastest lap time recorded was 1 minutes 29.37 seconds and the initiative raised over \u00a3800 for Macmillan Cancer Support.<\/p>\n
