The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) is delighted to announce that the Engineering Industries Association is changing its name to Engineering Supply Chain UK (ESCUK). The update to the association\u2019s name better reflects the current needs of the market as well as what members of the trade association do.<\/p>\n

As part of the MTA cluster, which also includes Additive Manufacturing UK (AMUK) and the MACH exhibition, ESCUK aims to showcase its members capacity, capability, products and services within the UK supply chain. Changes in trends over the past five years, specifically around reshoring and Sovereign manufacturing, has seen an increase in UK based demand and the rebranded association will better reflect the offering of its members.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1945, The Engineering Industries Association (EIA), was established to set up a strong and resilient UK supply chain just after the second world war. \u00a0Since joining the MTA cluster, the association has seen a significant upturn in opportunity and is once again taking the lead as the association with a platform where UK buyers and sellers can network to \u201creshore\u201d their products and services.<\/p>\n

The change of name to Engineering Supply Chain UK positions the association better within the MTA cluster and fully reflects the core activities of the membership.<\/p>\n

ESCUK represents the users of technology within the advanced manufacturing sector and, alongside offering a member discount at the MACH exhibition, is looking to create a fully accessible database to showcase companies within the UK supply chain.<\/p>\n

The Manufacturing Technologies Association is the UK\u2019s trade association for companies in the manufacturing technology sector. \u00a0MTA members design, manufacture and supply the advanced machinery, equipment and intellectual property that enable the creation of the products we rely on from day to day and that drive our economy.<\/p>\n

Key aspects of manufacturing technology include; machine tools, cutting tools, metrology (measuring) equipment, additive manufacturing (3D printing), surface finishing, robotics and computer aided design and manufacturing products (CAD\/CAM), as well as the technology which is enabling the digitisation of manufacturing \u2013 the fourth industrial revolution. These combine to make up complete systems – increasingly automated and adaptive – that manufacturers deploy, making the sector fundamental to the prosperity, health and defence of the nation.<\/p>\n

The MTA delivers: marketing support and networking opportunities; specific and relevant economic and technical information; representation to Government and other stakeholders; help for exporters; and support for learning and development within member companies and beyond.<\/p>\n

The MTA owns and runs MACH, the UK\u2019s premier event to showcase manufacturing technologies. The biennial exhibition, held at the NEC, attracts over 25,000 visitors, over 600 exhibitors and the last edition, MACH 2024, saw over \u00a3200,000,000 of business attributed to it.<\/p>\n

Established in 1919 the MTA has been at the core of the UK\u2019s engineering based manufacturing economy for over a century.<\/p>\n

The MTA has broadened the range of its support to the sector with the formation of a new cluster of trade associations which now includes Engineering Supply Chain UK (ESCUK) and Additive Manufacturing UK (AMUK).<\/p>\n
