A new hose holder and special side panels ensure quick and easy installation of corrugated pipes and hoses alongside energy chains.
Routing hoses, corrugated pipes and having cables in and beside energy chains safely and efficiently is a challenge in many industrial applications. To help, igus®now offers new accessories for its E4Q chain series : a special outer plate for the parallel routing of hoses and a new hose holder. These extensions enable easy and safe installation of corrugated pipes and hoses. The lugs with guide channels make it easy to retrofit PMA clips, while the hose holder ensures that hoses are securely fixed.
For safe cable routing for self-supporting and long travel distances, the E4Q from igus® is the energy chain of choice. The bio-inspired design of the chain reduces weight, and a crossbar with integrated locking tabs makes fitting easy, with no tools required. And to help guide PMA hoses parallel to the energy chain, igus® has now expanded the E4Q series to include special outer plates for hoses. The lugs have already been tested in the E4.1 standard series and can now be used in the E4Q chains. They have a guide channel into which the PMA clips can be easily inserted, allowing quick and easy installation of PMA corrugated tubes. Supplied in sizes from 17mm to 48mm, these “TUB tabs” can accommodate a range of hose diameters.
New holders for hoses with a diameter of up to 60mm
In addition, igus® has introduced the new SHM.60 hose holder. This is mounted on the outer plate just like the PMA clip. The holder lets the operator safely guide corrugated pipes or hoses with a diameter of up to 60mm, such as those used in extraction systems on a woodworking machine. The hoses can be easily fixed with Velcro or with one or two cable ties. “The newly developed hose holder complements the versatile options of the E4Q series and ensures that all additional cables, pipes or even hoses are optimally supported and protected,” explains Justin Leonard, e-chains director at igus® UK. “And new developments for the E4Q are also currently in the works: For example, a new centre plate with which customers can easily extend an existing energy chain, to run a large number of cables in an energy chain.”
is constantly investigating new ways to improve energy chain design to make cable and hose protection safer, easier to install, faster and better for the environment.
