Fronius UK, in partnership with the Aluminium Federation (ALFED) and Cranfield University, is hosting an exciting and informative Aluminium Welding Technology Event at Fronius UK’s Technology Centre in Milton Keynes on Wednesday 27th September. The event is aimed at professionals working with aluminium who want to improve their welding efficiency and learn more about advancements in aluminium welding technology.
Aluminium is a highly versatile material that is widely used across a range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, and construction. As demand for lightweight and durable materials continues to rise, welding aluminium has become increasingly important. However, welding aluminium presents unique challenges due to its low melting point and susceptibility to porosity and distortion. That’s why advancements in aluminium welding technology are so crucial. The upcoming Aluminium Technology Day at Fronius UK will provide a platform for industry experts to showcase their latest innovations and solutions for welding this lightweight metal. Attendees will be able to see and try out the latest intelligent processes designed specifically for aluminium for manual, robotic and automated welding. Product demonstrations will highlight the ease of use and flexibility of Fronius technology with which welding aluminium has never been easier or more efficient.
Additionally, the event will feature keynote speakers from the industry including Hitachi Rail, WAAM3D, Cranfield University, ALFED and Fronius. Seminars and discussions will cover topics such as advanced welding processes, challenges faced when joining aluminium, additive manufacturing, wire quality and selecting the correct alloy.
ALFED’s technical manager, Jan Lukaszewski, will be providing a useful insight into the topic of understanding and selecting the correct aluminium alloy. Jan commented, “This talk will provide an overview of alloy developments and properties, applications and an insight into aluminium as a strategic metal, broaching welding issues.”
The event offers an excellent networking opportunity, providing the chance to meet and discuss welding application challenges, research and development, and education and recruitment needs with industry experts.
Tom Jones, ALFED CEO, stated, “The event will provide a great opportunity to network with like-minded professionals in the aluminium industry and gain an interesting insight into the most recent advances in welding technologies. We’re looking forward to meeting and networking with some of the most prominent figures in the aluminium supply chain.”
The event is completely free to attend and a hot lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
What’s more, the day will end with the opportunity for guests to explore Cranfield University’s state-of-the-art facilities via a lab tour commencing at 4 pm. Transport from Fronius UK and back will be arranged.
