norelem’s range of plain bearings ensure devices run smoothly and efficiently for engineers, due to their ability to store oil. This range includes composite plain bearings and rolled composite plain bearings, designed to be used in dry-running and lubricated applications, as they are self-lubricating and maintenance-free.

The ready-to-install plain bearings range is available in either combined steel, bronze and plastic or sintered bronze. norelem’s sintered bronze plain bearings are suitable for devices in continuous operation such as electrical motors, ventilators and household appliances.

Marcus Schneck, CEO of norelem, said: “The combination of materials used in our plain bearings range ensures optimum and virtually wear-free sliding, with a high-load capacity and conductive ability. These bearings are designed to be used in a wide range of industries – for example, industrial, automotive, healthcare and domestic, to name a few.”

Sintered plain bearings are also oil-soaked and self-lubricating: oil is transferred to the rotating shaft from the absorptive capillary system, which is then absorbed from the plain bearing when the shaft is stationary. Additional lubrication is not required under normal operating conditions.

norelem’s composite plain bearings are suitable for lubricated applications as well as applications that require rotational and oscillatory movements. The plain bearings range has a no stick-slip effect and absorbs no water, enabling free movement and precision during operation.

The rolled composite plain bearings made of steel and sintered bronze are particularly suitable for dry-running conditions. With a copper-tin base, the carrier plate is protected from corrosion, and inside the sintered bronze in combination with a PTFE and lubricant coating ensure smooth rotation.

The plain bearings exhibit high chemical resistance and comply with the European RoHS guidelines. norelem’s range is available in bushes and collar bushings with an internal diameter of 3-50 mm and in thrust washers.

Engineers can find the components in norelem’s definitive catalogue, THE BIG GREEN BOOK. Datasheets and CAD drawings are available online, and can be ordered directly through norelem’s web shop.
