Following the launch of the entirely new brand of Vulcan high-quality cost-effective machine tools, the Engineering Technology Group (ETG) is delighted to announce the arrival of the new TC200 turning centre.
As part of the already popular TC Series, the TC200 is the smallest and most compact machine in an extremely expansive range. The TC200 simply signifies Turning Centre with a 200mm diameter chuck size. As the most compact machine in the range, ETG’s TC series has seven size variants that reach up to the largest machine, the TC800.
Anyone familiar with ETG will appreciate that quality, performance, stability and the latest technology is built-in to each machine in the TC Series. Developed to increase speed and precision, the cost-efficient model is a single spindle and single turret lathe with a 45-degree slant bed construction to ensure maximum stability whilst ensuring swarf is effectively removed from the work envelope. This ergonomic design allows users to maximise the heavy-duty cutting potential of the machine whilst undertaking uninterrupted batch or series production without continually opening the envelope to remove chips.
The TC200 is available in four variants to meet the complete needs of small component turning operations. The base model TC200 is the entry-level cost-efficient solution with a single spindle and single turret. As a base model, the TC200 has a swing over bed of 460mm, a maximum turning diameter of 280mm, a spindle speed range of 25 to 4200rpm and a spindle bore of 61mm diameter; something that when combined with the ETG bar feeding solutions can deliver the perfect cost-effective production cell. All this is packed into an impressive footprint of just 2.44m by 1.6m, and with a hefty overall weight of 4500kg, the robust build quality is assured.
For manufacturers looking to reduce secondary operations, ETG can supply the TC200M variant. This machine provides the opportunity for live tooling stations on the turret for engineers looking to increase their capabilities. With a servo turret providing powerful high-torque live tooling speeds from 25 to 4000rpm, the TC200M can certainly drive-down cycle times.
In addition to the TC200 and TC200M, the TC200 is available with an ‘L’ variant, the TC200L – this is designated as the long bed version that extends Z-axis travel from the standard 490mm to 740mm. With the facility to completely configure the machine to the requirements of the end-user, ETG is offering the TC200 Series in four variants – the TC200, TC200L, TC200M and the TC200ML with a longer bed and live tooling.
Every machine in this series is equipped with direct drive servo motors for smooth and rapid traverse movements of 30m/min in X and Z axes, which is complemented by a high-precision, high-speed spindle motor that maximises your machining performance. As standard, the TC200 Series is supplied with a 3-bar coolant pump, 130-litre capacity coolant tank, 8-position hydraulic tooling turret, automatic lubrication system, tool kit, work light, 3-colour beacon light, heat exchanger for electrical cabinet, chip conveyor, programmable tailstock, automatic part catcher and automatic tool probing.
Commenting upon this new market entry, ETG’s Group Managing Director Mr Martin Doyle says: “To enter the market segment where customers purchase machines at a particular price point, we wanted to ensure that we have the utmost in quality with a high specification machine construction that will give ETG a unique selling point. With the TC Series, we can meet our core competence of ETG assured quality and performance at a price point that will appeal to every machine shop.”
Despite the current Coronavirus situation, ETG is diligently following safe distancing procedures and health and safety practices – so if you would like to book an appointment to view any of the machines in the new TC range, call ETG now.
