New range of MACH Machine Tools’ CNC bed mills equipped with the sophisticated DynaPath WinDelta control is guaranteed to cause a stir.

MACH Machine Tools, part of the Vigilance Group, has recently introduced a new range of CNC bed mills equipped with the advanced DynaPath control.

There are three machines in the range – the MDM 700 (X-, Y- and Z-axes = 710mm, 400mm and 500mm) the MDM 850 (X-, Y- and Z-axes = 830mm, 500mm and 610mm), and the MDM 1000 (X-, Y-and Z-axes = 1000mm, 500mm and 610mm).

In addition to the machines’ powerful ISO 40 taper spindles (up to 5000rpm spindle speed) and generous working tables (up to 1524mm (L) x 330mm (W) with a maximum load of 500kg), all three models are equipped with a range of value added features supplied as standard.

These include a 12.1” touch screen, MPG hand wheel, air draw bar, interlock table guard and coolant equipment. They are also Wi-Fi enabled to facilitate ‘remote’ diagnostic and online support.

The MDM range of machines deliver exceptional cutting performance and are equipped with the DynaPath WinDelta control system which gives the machines a definite ‘edge’ when it comes to speed, flexibility and reliability.

MACH Machine Tools will be showcasing a MACH MDM 1000 bed mill equipped with the DynaPath control on its stand (Hall 2 Stand D32) at the Advanced Engineering Show in Birmingham.

DynaPath control

The DynaPath control system is inherently versatile and features conversational and ISO/G code programming capability making them easy to program on the shop floor.

An 8Gb on-board (program) storage facility combined with 1000 line look ahead ensures fast processing speeds and responsiveness which, in turn, help deliver high part accuracies and superior surface finishes.

Another feature of the control is its simple to understand menus, and the integration of on-screen graphics to help eliminate programming omissions and errors. The provision of an advanced DXF reader, as standard, featuring grouped hole and contour selection adds to the control’s flexibility and appeal.

Functions such as datum setting using alignment, a suggested feeds and speeds database, sub-program calling, the ability to use macro-programming; the ability to facilitate program simulation using tool path or 3D rendered graphics, and programmable spindle control – are more features (and strengths) of the DynaPath control.

Says Mike Corbett, MACH Machine Tools’ CNC Machine Tool Divisional Manager:

“In the past, component manufacturers looking for a high-performance and flexible CNC bed mill, didn’t have that many options regarding the machine’s control system – and that’s putting it mildly.

“The arrival of the MACH MDM machine range is going to shake up the market and gives manufacturers a real choice. When they see the DynaPath control in action, I am confident that they will be impressed with what’s now on offer.”

MACH Machine Tools will be showcasing a MACH MDM 1000 bed mill alongside a MACH MDT-1, (a 3-Axis CNC version of MACH’s now legendary VS-1 turret – type milling machine) both equipped with the DynaPath control on its stand (Hall 2 Stand D32) at the Advanced Engineering Show in Birmingham, (October 30th – 31st).

Manufacturers unable to attend the event can see the MACH-DynaPath range of machines being put through their paces at MACH Machine Tools’ Bristol facility in the company’s recently revamped machining demonstration area.

Concludes Mike Corbett:

“The first MDM machine – a MDM 1000 – arrived in the UK at the end of September and was sold immediately.

“We have brought in more machines and, interest in them, has been nothing short of phenomenal.”
