The popularity of the 5021 Series of Cyber Square End Mills from Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has now seen the Tamworth cutting tool manufacturer launch a new 5041 Series that is borne out of the success of the 5021 range. The new 5041 Series of high-performance end mills have been introduced to provide manufacturers with extended reach when machining challenging materials.

Already boasting remarkable performance characteristics that are built upon the foundation of an extremely rigid tool composition and geometry of the 5021 Series, the new line of 5041 Series of 5-flute tools is the first choice end mill for high-performance machining of steel and exotic material types. The solid carbide end mills are manufactured from a micro-grain carbide substrate with ITC’s Cupro coating technology that dissipates heat, prolongs tool life and consistency; providing a robust platform for high-performance machining of deep pockets and cavities.

The 5041 Series of long-reach tools are available in diameters of 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16mm with a reach of 12mm to 64mm and a length of cut from 5mm to 24mm depending upon the chosen diameter. The geometry and flute length ratio has been optimised on a tool series that has an overall length from 58 to 125mm. As a result of extensive R&D trials at ITC’s Tamworth headquarters to provide the best combination of rigidity, surface finishes and material removal rates when reaching into cavities; the 5041 reduces chatter, vibration and subsequently stress and spindle load. The optimised tool geometry combines with the harmonic flute design that makes the 5041 Series a formidable offering for any manufacturer undertaking trochiodal milling, slotting, pocketing and general heavy material removal applications of aerospace grade materials.

The smaller 3, 4 and 5mm diameter end mills are offered with the choice of a 0.25 or 0.5mm corner radius and tools from 6 to 16mm diameter enable customers to select a corner radius option of 0.75, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 and even 4mm for the larger end mills in the series.
