Leading manufacturer of compressors, vacuum pumps and blowers, Gardner Denver has been selected as a finalist for two categories in the Motion Control Industry Awards. This includes the highly-contested Manufacturer of the Year award and the Technical Innovation category for its iConn, cloud-based air analytics platform focused on smart air management.

Now in its fourth year, the awards, which will be held at the National Conference Centre in Solihull later this month, are designed to celebrate outstanding achievement and product innovation within the motion control industry.

In the Manufacturer of the Year category, a key contributing factor was Gardner Denver’s £10m+ investment its European manufacturing centres of excellence, enabling the business to ensure that its machines, assembly processes and logistics remain cutting-edge. This has led to high on-time delivery rates and industry-leading quality control.

These facilities also enable Gardner Denver to manufacture many components in house, backed by 100 per cent product testing before shipment.

The company also has a dedicated team to develop custom-engineered solutions, enabling bespoke systems to be created to meet any client requirement. Recent examples have seen the team adapt systems to include pre-installed piping work, and to tolerate higher levels of heat than is normally required.

In the Technical Innovation category, Gardner Denver’s award-winning cloud-based analytics programme, iConn, integrates with an ever-growing range of Gardner Denver products. This includes, most recently, the Hydrovane HV11 to HV45, bringing the Internet of Things to this well-known British compressor brand.

The platform enables remote performance monitoring, enabling real-time, predictive data analysis to prevent downtime. Unlike other options, which are typically locked to only work with certain systems, iConn is an open platform, enabling it to be integrated easily with machines from other suppliers.

The cloud-based, IoT enabled platform helps to deliver optimised energy usage and improves performance. As a cognitive system, iConn learns continually from the data and user behaviour to deliver optimised installation performance and insight in to any device.

Enrique Minarro Viseras, VP Industrials EMEAI, at Gardner Denver added:

“We are continually developing new technologies and manufacturing techniques and are proud that our achievements have been recognised at these prestigious awards.  These nominations demonstrate our commitment to working with our customers to implement the best energy-saving solutions that deliver low life cycle costs for their application.”
