Everybody talks about the Industrial Internet of Things – we act!
With our clever sensor systems we are creating a solid basis for a comprehensive evaluation of spindle data. The result is a better utilization as well as an enormous improvement of efficiency. Don‘t worry: of course there is no need of switching off the old metal cutting machines. With clever tricks we are able to bring them up-to-date. This can be carried out as a part of spindle repair or maintenance.
But one after the other…..
What does „Industrie 4.0“ mean at all?
First of all let us breath life into the term „Industrie 4.0“ which was initially used by the German government for a research community or rather research platform. The term ist about the cross-linking of industrial applications and information technology or to put it in other words: the synthesis of hardware and software. More over you‘ll find approaches for self configuration and self optimization.
How to use „Industrie 4.0“ in practice?
Now was has this got to do with day-to-day business of a company? A lot! Through the gathering of data, machines can be used in a much more efficient way. The focus is on the sensor technology of the spindle which is able to gather lots of data. We use this data for identifying the causes and circumstances of any breakdown or damage, error patterns and more over, we find clever maintenance intervals and optimize runtimes. Furthermore, we identify data on evaluation, production, prices, tools and sales quantity and draw our conclusions.
Industrie 4.0 @ Spindledoctor
At the Spindeldoctor we have read the signs of the times. In collaboration with numerous suppliers of sensor technology we already produce systems for the future. Our work is spindle specific so that we integrate and use different sensors at our spindle repairs. At the Spindeldoctor we are yet integrating electronical and mechatronical components which don‘t cause any negative impact on any other feature of the spindle.
One example is our encoder system, which records values like rotational speed, capacity and overload. Through the integration of further sensor systems we record temperature, oscillations and shaft expansion. Currently, older machines had not yet been fitted with the ability of information processing by the manufacturers, so that our spindle technology is one step ahead. However we are convinced, that today´s luxury will be tomorrow‘s standard, so that our efforts are a step in the right direction. Machines will become adaptive and able to „remember“ processes and intervals.
Older machines, which now come into extensive maintenance intervals, in most cases lack the possibility of processing the informations from the spindles. We ensure that the systems become compatible and work with components, which are up-to-date. The result is, that old spindles will be refitted with manufacturer‘s components within a repair in our house.
