Yamazaki Mazak has announced the date for its EMO Encore Open House which offers UK machine users the opportunity to see first-hand the latest technology debuted in Hannover.
Held at its European Technology Centre, Worcester, from 14th to 17th November 2017, the Open House will combine advanced machining technology in live-cutting action, with guided tours of its European manufacturing plant. Attendees will also have the chance to gain insight and understand the capabilities of Mazak’s iSMART Factory™ concept.
With 20 machines on display, 11 of which were on the original stand at EMO, the Open House is an opportunity not to be missed.
One machine taking centre stage will be the INTEGREX i-500 – which was created in response to requests from the European market for an INTEGREX with a bigger workspace envelope. The INTEGREX i-500 is therefore equipped with increased X- and Y-axis capacity and a large machining envelope, making it ideal for those looking to machine long, complex workpieces. Benefitting from a new compact-designed 24kW 12,000rpm mill spindle, complemented by a 37kW 2,500rpm main spindle, the i-500 also delivers improved ergonomics which allows the operator closer access to the workpiece.
Also on display will be the high performing 5-axis machining centre, the VARIAXIS i-300 AWC, which features new automation technology first showcased at EMO. With an integrated automation cell, the machine has been developed for high mix, low volume production and is ideal for smaller workspaces due to its compact footprint. In addition, the machine is also perfect for lights-out machining and is equipped with a field expandable magazine that can hold up to 505 tools and is capable of machining workpieces up to 350mm x 315mm with a maximum weight of 60kg.
Capable of high-speed aluminium cutting and minimum cycle times, visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the HCR-5000S, which also made its world debut at EMO. The 5-axis horizontal machining centre is equipped with a 500kg load capacity pallet, and has ultra-fast acceleration and a high jerk rate, as well as a high-performance main spindle.
The Open House will also feature Mazak’s latest Industry 4.0 solution, the Mazak iSMART Factory™ concept, which was first unveiled at EMO. The Mazak iSMART Factory™ takes its place alongside SMOOTH technology and aims to improve overall equipment effectiveness and facilitate data driven manufacturing via the seamless connection of the factory and office networks.
Alan Mucklow, Managing Director UK and Ireland, Sales Division at Yamazaki Mazak commented: “EMO is without a doubt the stand-out event in the European machine tool calendar. However, while it offers a fantastic platform to launch new machining technology, and network with a great number of UK and international customers, we’re well aware that not everyone can take the time out of their busy schedules to attend, and this is what the EMO Encore Open House is for.
“This has always been a staple addition to our schedule of events in an EMO year, and is a highly valuable exhibition in its own right, providing our UK customers with a chance to get to grips with Mazak’s latest machining technology much closer to home. With some truly world class innovations on display, we’re excited to welcome those customers who were unable to attend EMO and introduce them to the next generation of our machining solutions.”
