Now available in the UK and Ireland from TDT Technology, is the Proth series of precision surface grinding machines. Offering proven performance and high build quality throughout, the Proth range includes saddle, column, double-column and over-arm type longitudinal surface grinders, alongside a series of rotary surface grinders, including double-column models.
Proth Industrial is a highly reputable manufacturer of precision surface grinders that was first established in Taiwan in 1980. Today, the company has grown to employ in excess of 150 people who are dedicated to researching and developing surface grinders with a highly competitive cost-to-performance ratio to suit manufacturers of all sizes, and all budgets. Proth strives to consistently surpass the rigorous quality requirements of the European and Japanese markets; with all machines CE marked and built in line with ISO9001 standards.
The company’s range of longitudinal surface grinders begins with the PSGS saddle series. Three manual models at the smaller end of the range are supported by a further eight machines with NC control, up to the largest in the saddle series, offering 560 x 1090 mm maximum travel (cross by longitudinal).
The PSGC column series of surface grinders are all NC controlled. There are 19 models in the range, extending from 560 x 1150 to 960 x 3150 mm maximum travel. The surfaces of longitudinal table ways on all Proth machines are hand-scraped to obtain the perfect contact pattern and ensure very high accuracy. Longitudinal ways are designed to have slide surfaces longer than that of the working surface and equal to the table length (except the manual PSGS series), to keep the table free from torsion and deflection.
For even larger and more robust surface grinding requirements, TDT can offer the Proth PSGP double-column planar series. Again, 19 models span the range, from 1200 x 1650 to 1900 x 6150 mm maximum travel. Clearance between the columns ranges from 1200 to 2000 mm, depending on the model selected.
There are four models available in the Proth PSGO over arm series of NC grinders, extending up to a maximum travel of 810 x 315o mm.
For manufacturers with requirements for rotary surface grinding, Proth’s PSRS and PSRC series make a total of seven models available. Machines offer a maximum grinding radius from 120 to 500 mm, with spindle centre height from the table ranging from 300 to 500 mm.
Finally, where even more heavy-duty rotary surface grinding is required, the Proth PSRP double-column rotary planar series is designed to exceed expectations. Three models offer a maximum grinding radius of 600, 700 or 800 mm.
Beyond machines, TDT can also provide the full range of optional Proth grinding accessories, including chucks, dressing attachments, micrometer attachments, balancers, wheel flanges, splash guards, coolant baffles, cooling systems, filters and separators.
