Hurco has announced that it will hold an open house exhibition at its High Wycombe facility on 6th and 7th October 2021, the same dates as the postponed Southern Manufacturing show. Anyone interested in attending is invited to pre-register at: http://forms.hurco.com/hft/modules/form_builder/published/register.php

Hurco’s managing director David Waghorn said, “Our in-house event will take place during EMO in Milan. Although it is now possible to travel to Italy, we doubt that many people from the UK and Ireland will visit this year. A quick trip to High Wycombe, however, will give everyone an excellent perspective on the latest developments on offer from Hurco.

“Over the summer we have been really busy and have replaced all of the machines on demonstration with new models. In a few cases, we are showing machines for the first time ever in the UK.”

Taking centre stage is the BX60i vertical machining centre (VMC), designed for large X and Y axis travels while maintaining dynamic stability and accuracy. The portal machine is ideal for producing large mould tools or aerospace components. On show for the first time will be the VM One, a super-compact, entry-level VMC. It is small enough to fit through a two-metre high doorway and has generous power and capacity, considering the compact footprint.

Two of Hurco’s most popular automation solutions will be in operation. There will be a Hurco ProCobot Profeeder producing parts on a VM20i VMC and an Erowa Robot Compact 80 feeding the new VMX30UDi, a direct-drive, 15,000 rpm version of the popular VMX30Ui 5-axis VMC with 200 kg trunnion capacity. The solution is intended for automating small to medium batch runs and even one-offs.

Three Hurco turning centres will be available for demonstration including the TM8Mi driven tool lathe. On show also will be the versatile VMX42SRTi 5-axis VMC with direct drives on all axes including B and C, plus a further four models from the VMX and VM ranges. In total there will be 12 machines under power and cutting metal.

Mr Waghorn added, “Refreshments and lunch will be provided for all attendees. We hope that our open house will be a welcome opportunity to come and discuss future plans or potential projects with our team of sales and applications engineers.

“We don’t believe that there will be any need for special Covid precautions, but facemasks and hand sanitisers will be provided for use as required.”
