Mills CNC’s latest edition of its popular customer magazine – Insight – has just been published.

The Spring edition (Volume 11) is available in hard copy format and can also be accessed and viewed online by visiting Mills’ website www.millscnc.co.uk

As always the Insight magazine contains the latest product information from Mills which, in this edition, alerts readers to the arrival of:

  • the new, large-capacity Doosan DNM 6700XL: a vertical machining centre with a 2.1metre X-axis;
  • the Doosan TT 1300SYY and the Doosan TT 2100SYY: two new Doosan Twin-Turret/Twin-Spindle multi-tasking lathes with Y-axis capability on both their upper and lower turrets;
  • a new, high-productivity Automatic Workpiece Changer (AWC), with up to 24 pallet capacity, that can be supplied (as an option) with a new Doosan DVF 5000 simultaneous 5-axis machining centre.

In addition to product news and information, the Spring edition of Insight also contains a number of case studies that focus on recent Doosan machine tool installations for customers operating in the aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, and advanced tooling sectors.

These installations help demonstrate not only the depth and breadth of Doosan’s machine tool range – but also the diversity of Mills’ customer base.

The Cobots are here

A special 10 page (centre) feature of the Insight magazine is devoted to Mills CNC Automation, a new division created by Mills CNC to provide a focal point for future sales of its industrial and collaborative robot systems and solutions.

At the beginning of 2019 Mills CNC Automation signed a deal with Doosan Robotics (based in South Korea and part of the Doosan Group), to become its UK agent and supply its advanced, high-performance collaborative robots (cobots) to UK and Irish manufacturers.

The deal and its implications are explained in more detail in this edition of Insight along with numerous relevant and topical articles on the growing demand for, and future and potential use and application of, cobot technology.

Says Tony Dale, Mills CNC’s Technical Director:

“There is something for everyone in this bumper 40 page edition of Insight.

“New machine tool introductions…the latest machine tool application case study reports plus an exciting and new automation venture for the company.

“It’s a riveting read.”
