Craven Fawcett has pledged its commitment to Scottish Squash, by supporting the 2019 Springfield Scottish Squash Open, held at Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre in Edinburgh, 3rd-7th April.

The brick making machinery manufacturer became an official event partner when the major tournament made a return to the squash calendar for the first time in 18 years, thanks to Springfield Properties, one of the fastest growing housebuilders in Scotland.

The Springfield Scottish Squash Open was a Professional Squash Association (PSA) Challenger 10 event with a $20,000 prize fund, which was equally split between male and female players. The tournament, which was last played in 2001, attracted players from 18 different countries.

Speaking about the company’s involvement, Mark Ridgway OBE, CEO of Craven Fawcett, said: “We were delighted to support the 2019 Springfield Scottish Squash Open.

“As a business we recognise the benefits that sport in general and squash in particular brings to people’s health. We are proud to be associated with the event that brings the Scottish Squash Open back to Scotland for the first time in almost two decades.”

Maggie Still, CEO of Scottish Squash, added: “We are delighted to have Craven Fawcett on board and are grateful for their generous sponsorship.

“The additional support ensured an even more successful event for the players and spectators alike, helping us to launch the Springfield Scottish Squash Open as a major event in the Scottish Squash calendar.”
