SCHUNK Intec will be demonstrating why it is the competence leader in the field of automation at the upcoming Robotics and Automation Exhibition at the MK Arena in Milton Keynes. On Stand 510, the UK’s benchmark supplier of linear and mechatronic modules, pick & place systems, monitoring and compensating systems, gripping and specialist automation solutions will be demonstrating its industry leading technology from the 10thto 11th of October at the much anticipated event.
Prominent at the show will be the award winning Co-Act (collaborative actuator), which is part of the SCHUNK gripping technology program for safe human-robot collaboration. The SCHUNK Co-act JL1 gripper, the world’s first intelligent gripping module for human/robot collaboration, which directly interacts and communicates with humans, can conduct adjustments to the gripping processes in real time using diverse sensor systems. Various ‘senses’ are used to record, evaluate and communicate situational, ambient and operational conditions.
Alongside the internationally recognized award winning Co-Act system will be the complementary flagship PGN-plus series of gripper technology. SCHUNK has recently extended this series with the arrival of the PGN-plus-E that incorporates an IO-link. The competence leader for gripping systems and clamping technology will be presenting the world’s first lifelong maintenance-free 24V premium electric gripper, which completely fulfills the IO-link class B standard.
The new arrival only requires one connection plug to control the gripper, parameterise and to use the integrated diagnostics function. It can be directly connected to the IO-link class B master without a Y distributor. The required control and power electronics are integrated into the compact module, so no space is taken up in the control cabinet. The gripping force can be individually adjusted to the workpiece via the IO-link. As well as the Co-Act intelligent gripping module and the PGN-plus, SCHUNK will demonstrate a complete range of robotics and automation ancillary products that can significantly enhance your path to efficient and effective automation.
