FUCHS Lubricants has secured a long-term contract to supply British Steel with all of its lubrication products.
Richard Halhead, managing director of Stoke-based FUCHS Lubricants UK, said he was “delighted” that the deal had been completed.
British Steel is a manufacturer of high-quality steel products for use in multiple markets worldwide.
The company uses large quantities of lubricants each year to ensure the smooth running of its on-site machines.
British Steel visited FUCHS’ headquarters in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, recently to see first-hand the company’s extensive product range and strategy for further improvement.
Mr Halhead said: “We’re extremely proud and delighted to have been selected as the lubricants partner for British Steel.
“FUCHS continues to invest in the UK with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and continuous development. We’re committed to the UK market and ideally placed to support British Steel in its future success.”
FUCHS is the world’s largest independent lubricant manufacturer with expertise and experience in developing lubricants for a wide variety of applications.
Using premium, OEM approved lubricants can significantly improve the life of a machine and limit downtime.
Dean Winney, British Steel Site Planning Engineer, said: “Applying the correct oils and greases with improved techniques and schedules will give British Steel improved reliability and protection of the site operations.”
British Steel Project Engineer Chris Allison added: “FUCHS supply an extensive range of products and pursue improvement and development with enthusiasm, which they were only too happy to show us during a recent visit to their premises in Stoke.”
